Words & Melody Alchemy
This 2012 Sonoridade program pays homage to artists who have the magical ability to create the perfect alchemy between words and melodies. The show features music by new school songsmiths such as Felipe Catto, Mallu Magalhães, Marcelo Jeneci, Thais Gulin, Casuarina, Danilo Morais, Maciel Salú and Romulo Fróes, plus new songs by acclaimed composers Lenine, Marisa Monte, Celso Fonseca, Ronaldo Bastos, Arnaldo Antunes, and current compositions by classics such as Chico Buarque with João Bosco, Milton Nascimento with Pedro Luis and an amazing live duet by Caetano Veloso and new star Maria Gadú. Melting their poetry in Portuguese into unforgettable and time-stopping melodies, these songwriters are great examples of the freshness and vitality of the music born in Brazil every year.
