Leonard Jean Baptiste, Sainclair Olwitchschneider, and Mackenson Bijou discuss their prize-winning poetry slam project for the 2015 Ghetto Biennale, The Language of Vodou. They talk about the relationship between the freedom implied in the concept of poetry slamming and the expression of vodou. They explain the concept of the lakou, its historic commitment to the environment and its impact on society as well as the threats of urbanization.

Leonard Jean Baptiste describes himself as a young slammer, writer, puppeteer and dancer.

Mackenson Bijou is a slammer and an actor in the National Theater.

Sainclair Olwitchschneider is a poet and slammer and artist in various media.
