Open House, Open Studios 24 January

Join us as we open the studios of three artists now working in the Clocktower Gallery Production Studios this month and view new and developing projects: Heather Dewey-Hagborg reveals explorations in displaying genetic data collected and distilled during her residency at The Clocktower Gallery and GenSpace. Richard Garet unveils three new multi-channel audio and video works that coexist in conversation with one another, within the same environment, and collectively establishing an intertwined reception of the work. Andrew Haik Demirjian is a media artist combining computer programming, conceptual art practices and musical forms to create systems that dynamically grow and change based on user input or self-reflection. For the open house he will be showing multi-channel excerpts of the Grand Canyon work as well as recent iPad interfaces for experimental documentaries and javascript text pieces. RSVP is required to events@artonair.org Andrew Haik Demirjian is a media artist who explores relationships between consciousness and environment through non-fiction audiovisual production. He combines computer programming, conceptual art practices and musical forms to create systems that dynamically grow and change based on user input or self-reflection. The work draws upon his experience as a filmmaker and musician and uses juxtaposition and categorization in place of conventional narrative arcs. For his residency open house Andrew will be showing multi-channel excerpts of the Grand Canyon work as well as recent iPad interfaces for experimental documentaries and javascript text pieces. The studios of Richard Garet and Heather Dewey-Hagborg will be on view along with long term exhibits and our newly restored galleries. New exhibitions in those galleries open Feb. 5, 2013.
