Lani Combier-Kapel
Lani Combier-Kapel is Clocktower's Event Manager.
Lani has worked in the music industry for 10+ years, starting as a production assistant for Bowery Presents at age 17 doing hospitality for Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Hall & Oats, The White Stripes, and more.
Most of her college years and early twenties were spent helping to produce events such as Tribeca Film Festival, The FiFi Awards, and DUMBO Arts Festival, among others.
Discovering and exploring her love of events and management, she became Promotions Director of Hunter College’s Radio Station, booking and managing her own 300+ events in the college cafeteria.
In 2013, she helped to form the collective and venue of Silent Barn – first acting as Press Director and then moving to Calendar Manager. She was also part of the first batch of residents to move into the upstairs apartments; a residency that taught her the importance of transparency, group communication, and how to recognize and support unprivileged artists.
While at Silent Barn, she started a booking moniker Gingercore Booking, booking artists such as DJ Assault, Wax Idols, Dreamcrusher, and PC Worship.
Aside from Clocktower and Silent Barn, Lani also works as Showcase Coordinator for Northside Festival, one of three bookers for the fest. She also sometimes facilitates shows at Brooklyn Bazaar.
Lani is a practicing musician, playing drums for 12 years in various bands, past ADVAETA, Warcries, and currently Weeping Icon. She’s a fiery red haired Aries sun, Sag moon and loves everything to do with cats, ginger, herbs, and magic shiny things.
She’s spoken on a few panels about DIY, and her work has been written about in Tom Tom Magazine, Hyperallergic, Village Voice, Brooklyn Vegan, Refinery 29, Times Newsweekly, Brooklyn Magazine and more.
