Clocktower Brooklyn Reception

The Clocktower invites followers and listeners to join us on March 9 to launch our Institutional Residency at Pioneer Works, the 10th Anniversary of our radio station, and the unveiling of our new operation center and broadcast studio which includes permanent installation by Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels. The Clocktower celebration takes place as part of the day-long Second Sunday series at Pioneer Works with live performances, open studios and a chance to see Dale Henry: The Artist Who Left New York, an exhibition installed in partnership between Clocktower and Pioneer Works. 5-10pm. Free.

Dale Henry: The Artist Who Left New York is on view all day starting at noon.

See more about the Bothwell Fels installation HERE. It crawls across the ceiling in the recording studio.

Stop by the new radio studio on the third floor on March 9th. Throughout the day's events, Clocktower Radio is conducting artist interviews, DJ sessions, recording performances, and it is all going straight to the livestream at ARTonAIR.org. Also check out Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels' abstract, layered, repurposed wood sculptures that grace the ceiling of our new broadcast studio.

As part of its Second Sunday series, Pioneer Works opens its artist residency studios to the public for the day. Works presented include a performance score by Gerard & Kelly (in development for their exhibition at the Kitchen); sculptural wood creations by Tom Beale; works of relational mixed media by Pedro Wirz, an artist from Residency Unlimited; multimedia installations by Joey Frank; and works of “misused” technology by Bradley Pitts. In addition, Pioneer Works’ in-house publication, The Intercourse magazine, launches its second issue.

Programmer and co-owner of Barbès performance space, Olivier Conan, is the musical curator for the evening's music with live performances from all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache, Chicha Libre's modern reinterpretation of the popular 70's Peruvian style of chichi, and the funky Balkan beats of DJ Sultan Balanero. Live music starts at 7pm.

Pioneer Works is also offering the workshops Dream Analysis: Working with Your Own Dreams, from 12-2pm, and Electronic Voices, from 3-5pm.
