ABOUT

This experimental lecture explores the relationship of sound to the passage of time and one's experience of the present. Applying Impulse Response, a method of analyzing the timed response of a given system, Daniel Neumann will be composing the acoustic ambiance of the architectural space into a soundscape of test tones. While technical in nature, this lecture is to be experienced by all interested audience members, as it is a sonic journey emphasizing the importance of one's sensory experience of the present.

ARTIST

Daniel Neumann is a Brooklyn-based sound artist, organizer and professional audio engineer, originally from Germany. He holds a master's degree in media art from The Academy of Visual Art, Leipzig, where he wrote his thesis on The Expandability Of The Now. He also studied electronic music composition in Catania, Italy. A main focus for Neumann, throughout all three of his different occupations, is how sound interacts with space and how spaces can be shaped by sound.
