Zimoun
A conversation and listening session with Swiss installation artist Zimoun onsite with his kinetic sculpture assembled at Knockdown Center in Maspeth, Queens in February 2015. The piece consists of 250 thin wooden boards, each tied to a rotating motor, that rise and drop in an unsynchronized dance of motion and klangfarben. The artist is visiting to oversee three concurrent exhibitions hosted by bitforms gallery at the Simons Center on the Stony Brook campus (through 9 April 2015), at the gallery home base on Allen Street (through 15 March) and at Knockdown (through 8 March).
