Waterwell and Bambï, Goodbar
Goodbar is a live concept album inspired by Judith Rossner's 1975 novel Looking for Mr. Goodbar and its 1977 film adaptation. The work is the result of a collaboration between avant-garde theatre company Waterwell and glam/punk band Bambï. Arian Moayed, Artistic Director of Waterwell, directed the production, while Bambï--composed of Hanna Cheek, Cara Jeiven, Jimmie Marlowe, Tobi Parks and Kevin Townley--provided the music and lyrics. Featuring live performances by Bambï and Waterwell members Kevin Townley and Hanna Cheek and pre-recorded, screen-projected performances by Moby, Ira Glass and Bobby Cannavale, among others, Goodbar is at once a cheeky and sincere good time (32 minutes).
Goodbar was produced August 20-22, 2010, at New York's East River Park Bandshell. It was directed by Arian Moayed with music and lyrics by Bambï. The production featured video design by Alex Koch, costume design by Erik Bergrin, set design by Nick Benacerraf and lighting design by Adam Frank.
