Venice 2013: Jesper Just & Tony Podesta
In a 2-part conversation with Julia Draganovic of LaRete Art Projects, American lobbyist and art collector Tony Podesta shares his insights on the discoveries and observations regarding the 2013 Venice Biennale.
One artist Podesta mentions specifically is Danish artist Jesper Just and his video instillation at the Danish Pavilion in the Giardini of the 2013 Biennale. Jesper Just catches up with Julia Draganovic to discuss his work Intercourses, an installation of five films of structures that Just calls "ruins in progress" set in the Danish Pavilion. In this immersive piece with its implicit eroticism and sensuality, Just deals with national identity, inclusion and exclusion, and the idea of connection.
The Clocktower Gallery partnered with LaRete Art Projects to deliver roving reports from the 55th Venice Biennale. LaRete Art Projects is dedicated to research and support of new artistic strategies.
