Toni Collette, Miss You Already
As Milly, a brash Londoner in the dramedy Miss You Already, Australia’s Toni Collette tackles a decidedly demanding, complex character. Selfish, narcissistic, and consumed with her appearance, Milly’s strident personality is challenged with the alarming news that she is diagnosed with breast cancer and that her many decades long friendship with Jess, an American played by Drew Barrymore, is put in jeopardy. In this interview, Collette explains that the goal of the movie was never to sentimentalize something that has affected so many, noting that her character's illness “never turns her into a nun or a saint.”
