The Innernet

A handful of songs selected by Joe Ahearn, The Clocktower Gallery's Curator of Performance and Installation. First two new songs, by two great bands; Future Islands and Twin Sister, materials on their 2011 LPs, then a great single by Ava Luna, who performed here in The Clocktower Gallery in the summer of 2011.. After that is Co La, a project by Baltimore-based artist Matt Papich, and then a live recording of The Babies, a stellar side-project of Brooklyn-indie-super-heroes Woods and The Vivian Girls. Following that is the lead track from noise-hip-hop group Death Grips, followed by a track by Fat Tony, who also played here at The Clocktower Gallery. This particular Tony track features rap antics by buddies Das Racist. Keep listening for some strange sounds found on The Friendship Bracelet blog, before ending up with this very weird Ryan Trecartin mash-up that Denver Colorado goth star Pictureplane made. And finally, Joe's picks end with a Parts & Labor track, the full band side of musician Dan Friel.
