Vocal explorer, improviser, raconteur, chanteuse and so much more, Brooklyn born Shelley Hirsch has been a central figure in New York's downtown music scene since the mid 1970s. This program is assembled from a selection of remastered cuts from her CD, The Far In, Far Out Worlds of Shelley Hirsch, on Tzadik, co-written and performed with collaborators including Mich Gerber, Christian Schneider, David Weinstein, and Simon Hostettler. The project executive producer was John Zorn.
