Stanley Nelson, The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution

MacArthur “Genius” Fellow and Emmy winner Stanley Nelson, Jr., discusses his new documentary The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution. Called a “must-watch” by Newsweek and billed as the first feature-length documentary on the subject, The Black Panthers tracks the rise and fall of the Black Panther Party, notorious and controversial from its conception in the early 1960s on Oakland streets as an armed response to institutionalized police brutality.
