Shohreh Aghdashloo, The Stoning of Soraya M.
The Iranian actress in exile and political activist Shohreh Aghdashloo
gives The Stoning of Soraya M. a grandeur and gravitas befitting a
film that wants to awaken the world’s consciousness. Aghdashloo
discusses the emotional experience of filming in Jordan, of watching
an underground video of an actual stoning of two homosexual men and her Hollywood career since her Oscar-nominated performance as Ben
Kingsley’s wife in House of Sand and Fog. The Stoning of Soraya
M. is based on an actual incident recounted in a 1994 international
bestseller of the same name (18 minutes).
