Second Sundays: Pioneer Works Resident Artist Helene Nymann

Jake Nussbaum hosts a Second Sundays interview with Copenhagen-based multidisciplinary artist and Pioneer Works artist-in-residence Helene Nymann (aka "IMA").

Nymann's artistic practice addresses working on memory and the memory palace; the notion of embodied knowledge and the way in which associative images stimulate memory. Interested in the borderline between the natural and the digital worlds, Nymann constructs performative environments in which the moving image, sound, and sculpture make way for transformative arrays of consciousness. She has created a 3D model of the human brain and is potentially collaborating to make a memory palace out of Pioneer Works.
