Sandy Stories: Artists in a Storm
A week after Hurricane Sandy hit the New York area on October 29, 2012 the Clocktower Gallery and radio crew convened for a marathon live streamcast. This program contains a selection of highlights from that day. This 30-miniute digest features testimony from a mix of artists, performers, and reporters whose lives and work were affected by the storm. Guests discuss the loss of living/work space and personal belongings and the effect of Sandy on the creative community. Witness and victim accounts were heard from various New York neighborhoods: Gowanus, the Rockaways, Red Hook, and our own home in lower Manhattan. This coverage provides a valuable document of the impacts of Sandy on the arts throughout New York City.
