He wanted her to revitalize his nation’s cinema but only after he also kidnapped South Korea’s greatest filmmaker, her ex-husband. The English directing duo Ross Adam and Robert Cannan struggled for nearly seven years to finish their eye-opening documentary in time for the January 2015 Sundance world premiere.
