Rebecca Wilson, Saatchi Gallery

Will Corwin chats with Rebecca Wilson over cappuccinos at the Saatchi Gallery Cafe. Wilson is the Associate Director at the gallery and the Founding Editor of the Saatchi Gallery Online Magazine. She talks candidly about the gallery, and working hand-in-hand with the infamous Charles Saatchi--kingmaker of the 90's London art scene and one of the major forces behind the YBA phenomenon. She also talks about the galleries more recent exhibitions, and the risks involved with large-scale international exhibitions involving emerging artists from countries with hostile regimes: in particular the plight of several Iranian artists who faced persecution at home for an exhibition at Saatchi. She also talks a bit about the gallery's online component, and how that innovation has changed the art world on some levels.
