Genji Siraisi is a composer and electronic artist who finds joy in the intellectual distortion of musical dogmas. His music is a mosaic of poly-rhythmic pop experiments, Punk, Jazz, Trip Hop & Dubstep. His sound is a construction of downtown NYC gestalt, forged beats, found sounds, software, handmade circuits, re-purposed electronics and boom box fantasies. He is a self described joyful existentialist, aesthetic socialist and spiritual Canadian.
Genji is a Brooklyn native and founding member of the NYC group Groove Collective who was nominated for a Grammy in 2007 for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. He has toured the world and been a part of the underground music scene for decades distilling the funk essence, raw impact, and soul of passing fads and combining them with his love of Rock, Hip Hop, Electro, Music Concrete, Blue Grass, Jazz, Salsa, Soul, Disco, Classical and any sounds that can make one laugh, cry and move.
Warper Party Radio Extravaganza programs are made possible in part by the Jerome Foundation that seeks to foster a dynamic and evolving culture by supporting the creation, development, and production of new works by emerging artists.
