Peter Davies

Will Corwin stops by the Hackney, northeast London, studio of artist Peter Davies. Davies is known for his meticulously painted list paintings, such as The Hot One Hundred and The Hip One Hundred. The Hip One Hundred places Will's former mentor, Richard Patterson, as Number One, hopefully some of that hipness has rubbed off (on Will). Davies was very young indeed when he was included in the Sensation show at the Royal Academy in 1997 (27 years old) and was consequently catapulted to stardom. He speaks candidly about the early days of his career and the ups and the downs of early success. He also discusses his most recent exhibition at the super-cool London gallery, The Approach.
