Out of Holes
Yumi Sakugawa is an Ignatz Awards nominated comic book artist and the author of I Think I Am In Friend-Love With You and Your Illustrated Guide to Becoming One with the Universe. Her comics have also appeared in The Believer, Bitch, the Best American Non-Required Reading 2014, The Rumpus, Folio, Fjords Review, and other publications. A graduate from the fine art program of University of California, Los Angeles, she lives in Los Angeles.
Taylor Yates is the editor-in-chief and founder of Selfish, and a writer and multimedia artist based in Brooklyn. Through her work, she experiments with the traditional memoir format, using multidimensional storytelling to bridge the complexity of life-shaping experiences and the fluidity of creative influences. Through Selfish, she seeks out the brazenly authentic and hopes to encourage women to explore and celebrate their own creative metamorphosis.

Paper Cuts is an exploration of the contemporary world of zines and DIY publishing. Hosted by Christopher Kardambikis, each program features writers, performers, and artists who have shared their work in print, on paper, and in small editions. Zines are truly dynamic publications that have built and supported engaged communities around ideals, experiences, genres, music, politics, poetry…anything that can be printed, shared, and/or mailed.
