Nova Convention, The Music

The Nova Convention is a radio series documenting a three day event that took place in New York City in 1978 as an homage to William S. Burroughs. This segment highlights the musical participants with performances by Frank Zappa, Patti Smith, Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, Steve Lacey and Ed Sanders.

The original series was produced by Giorno Poetry systems for WBAI radio and has been restored from John Giorno's private tapes in partnership with the Clocktower Gallery's radio station at
