Mike Birbiglia, Don’t Think Twice

Screenwriter-director-actor and stand-up comedian Mike Birbiglia scores with a heartfelt study of an improv group imploding in the acutely observed, heart-rending Don’t Think Twice. Ideals, talent, envy, and ambition all figure in the six member group The Commune, an improv crew whose cohesion is shaken when one goes on to a national spotlight. Birbiglia credits his wife with the inspiration for the film and modestly explains why his is not starring in this sophomore effort as writer-director.
