Mark Dagley's Mix Tape



By invitation from composer/curator Elliott Sharp, an eclectic and unclassifiable mix of music new and old, from here and there, from Moondog to Derek Bailey to John and Yoko assembled by Mark Dagley, a painter and musician and producer with projects including legendary Boston punk band The Girls, The Hi-Sheriffs of Blue, and Marianne Nowottny. Tracks on this mix also include Isa Genzken, Rudolph Gray & Rashid Ali, Conlon Nancarrow, The Okmoniks, The Public Servants, Florence Foster, and David Garland.

A series of programs produced by the composer Elliott Sharp from his own collection of works that have influenced, energized, or otherwise occupied his earspace and imagination; from African chanting to Japanese noise to avant-garde concert music. Many of the segments were assembled for the former radio station of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center (now MoMA/PS1) between 2004 and 2006.
