Letter from Prague
Sitting in a café at the Veletrzni Palace, host Will Corwin gets a sense of the direction of the modern art wing of the National Gallery with the recently appointed Chief Curator, Adam Budak. Budak talks about his brain-child, the Department of the Moving Image, and waxes nostalgic about curating an exhibition in Warsaw with Louise Bourgeois. The gallerist Kacha Kastner and painter/videographer Josef Bolf aka “Peppa” swing by to discuss the Prague art scene, and in particular to discuss Peppa’s generation, who grew up under socialism and experienced the transformation of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic.
