Leslie Shearing and Heather Smith, Unscrewed

Stephen Schaefer nabs Leslie Shearing, director-star of the "mockumentary" film Un-Screwed, for a conversation with Heather Smith, who stars as Mary St. John, an unsatisfied wife seeking therapy with her husband, Joseph. Though Unscrewed is fiction, it plays just like a real-life documentary as it follows a young, attractive couple (Smith and Hans Hoffman) undergoing all kinds of sex therapy, most not covered by insurance. The film, produced and performed by the New York-based improvisational troupe, LabRats, was also largely improvised, as director Shearing and Smith relate here.
