Lena Dunham, Tiny Furniture

With the micro-budgeted semi-autobiographical Tiny Furniture, writer/filmmaker Lena Dunham has solved the problem of what comes after graduating from Oberlin College: Do more screenwriting, acting and producing. Dunham wrote, starred, and directed Furniture, which she filmed in her parents Tribeca loft with her mother and sister among the cast in a story that with wry humor and self-deprecation considers a new grad’s prospects with jobs, men, friends and family. Coming soon: An adaptation for megaproducer Scott Rudin and for HBO: a 21st century style Sex and the City as Dunham devises, produces, writes and stars in a series about three girlfriends in contemporary Manhattan.
