Laurent Cantet, The Class

A world class filmmaker who has been called "the poet of the working class," Laurent Cantet scored Cannes’ Palme D’Or, and the opening night slot of the New York Film Festival last year with The Class, which was also nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award. The film, adapted from a French bestseller written by a teacher, explores complex issues about education in a multicultural France of myriad identities (24 minutes).
