Laura Linney, Mr. Holmes

It was Laura Linney’s friendships--first with writer-director Bill Condon, then with author Armistead Maupin, whose Tales of the City launched her brilliant career-- that got the first-time mother back to work just months after her son was born. In Condon’s 2015 Mr. Holmes, the Oscar-nominated actress stars as Sherlock Holmes’ housekeeper. Hear about Linney's six weeks on location in England with Maupin's friend Ian McKellen, who plays a deteriorating 93-year-old Holmes attempting to solve one last mystery.
