Kevin Kline and Kasey the Canine Star, Darling Companion

Kevin Kline teams for the first time with Diane Keaton and his sixth outing with Lawrence Kasdan for Darling Companion. The Julliard grad recalls his decade long apprenticeship onstage before making his film debut opposite Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice, his subsequent hit teaming with Kasdan on The Big Chill and talks about that elusive beast known as “chemistry” with his leading ladies.

A German shepherd-collie mix, Kasey was rescued in Las Vegas at two where he was found tied with a rope to a tree. He still bears the scars around his neck and one on his face, making him now at 10 an ideal slightly imperfect leading dog for the title role in Lawrence Kasdan’s sweet natured comedy Darling Companion about the ripple effect a dog has on the couple–Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline–who rescues him. We speak with Kasey and his trainer Sarah Cole.
