Justine Delaney, aka DJ Justine D
Will Corwin quizzes DJ Justine D on what it's like to be a DJ--he is completely clueless about this particular profession. From why she spins purely vinyl, to how many records she brings to a venue in her magic bag, to the story of her recent gig as the main stage DJ for the Village Voice's Siren Festival 2009, Justine talks about life behind the turntables. She recounts the history of the notorious Motherfucker party--of which she was one of the founding DJ's, and talks about the evolution, and devolution, of many of New York's greatest clubs. She's come full circle now as one of the music directors of Le Poisson Rouge, but has also taken a detour as a pastry chef. She even brought a delectable treat to the Clocktower (but we didn't get a taste!) (26 minutes).
