John Lloyd Young, Jersey Boys
John Lloyd Young’s role of a lifetime has been to play the Four Seasons’ lead singer Frankie Valli. This goal was achieved first on Broadway beginning in 2005, and now onscreen in Clint Eastwood’s screen adaptation. Jersey Boys, a Tony Award winning Best Musical, won the promising actor the Best Actor in a Musical Tony but hardly guaranteed he would reprise Valli for the Oscar winning director. He describes his friendship with Valli, what got him the film, singing onscreen, and Christopher Walken’s gift while they were filming.
