Joey Arias
Joey Arias is a New York based performance artist, cabaret singer, and drag queen. After singing in Rock Bands, he performed in Groundlings and later became well known in the NY performance/club scene on the 1970s and 1980s on the strength of his talent for "channeling" Billie Holiday. He has recorded many albums of his music and famously played Joan Crawford in Christmas at the Crawford's; he is also well-known to independent-film audiences in such films as Mondo New York and Wigstock: The Movie. In 2008, his performance of Arias with a Twist at HERE announced his return to New York theater after a hiatus of several years.
