Joe Fig

Inside The Painter's Studio is a book of interviews with twenty four artists, accompanying visual documentation of their studios. Host Will Corwin saw this book and thought it would be an interesting postmodern situation to be an artist who interviews artists interviewing another artist who interviews artists. Joe Fig is a sculptor who has transformed many of his interviews into sculptures that are recreations of specific artists studios. He has interviewed such luminaries as Chuck Close, Mary Heilmann, April Gornik, Eric Fischl, Ross Bleckner and Dana Schutz, among others.
