One of his generation's great actors, with Oscar nominations for Gladiator, Walk the Line and The Master, Joaquin Phoenix, 39, adds to his gallery of memorable characters with Her. Phoenix plays Theodore, an ordinary man who falls in love with a computer operating system named Samantha (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) in Spike Jonze's slightly futuristic film.
