Japan-esque

Kazue Kobata, Tokyo Correspondent, launches her first show. Her series includes experimental music, live performances, interviews, and city soundscapes. In this segment, Kobata muses on several musicians and bands currently turning heads in Japan. Many young artists in Japan are reverting back to slower, more serene sounds in response to the overbearing presence of Western music. This "japan-esque" music takes influences from traditional Japanese music, including nagauta , traditional Japanese singing.
