Im Sang-soo, The Housemaid

A remake of one of Korea’s most famous films, Kim Ki-young’s 1960 The Housemaid, director Im Sang-soo’s 2010 Cannes selection and same-titled version differs in several details, primarily in no longer making the young housemaid who is hired in an upper middle class household an evil seductress. The director of Korean hits like The President’s Last Bang (2005) and A Good Lawyer’s Wife (2003) tells us that his next film will feature a male protagonist - and a murder. (13 minutes)
