Honeychild Coleman



Recorded live at a Warper Party Radio Extravaganza concert event at the Clocktower Gallery on April 27, 2011, Kentucky-born singer and multi-instrumental artist Carolyn "Honeychild" Coleman has been described as "Fugazi meets Echobelly." She began her career playing in the subways of New York City and has since performed and recorded with Raz Mesinai's Badawi, HERE (Italy), Phylr, DJ Olive and we (tm), Spectre (Wordsound), Apollo Heights (Manimal Vinyl/Red Eye) and Death Comet Crew (featuring Rammellzee).

In 2010 Coleman was recruited by Ari Up (R.I.P.) to join The Slits as solo guitarist on their final European/UK Tour. A featured artist in documentaries Afropunk (James Spooner, USA) and Fireflies and Getting My Name Up There (Katharina Cibulka, Austria), Coleman also music contributed to the scores of Robin Wright Penn's mystery thriller,Sorry Haters (IFC), P.R, the award-winning independent release by Greek director Maria Paraskevopoulou, and 2011 Sundance Film Festival award-winning Pariah dramatic feature by Dee Rees. She lives in Brooklyn, New York
