Gabriel Byrne, Louder Than Bombs

For Irish actor Gabriel Byrne, collaborating with Norway’s Joachim Trier on Louder Than Bombs, the filmmaker’s first English language effort, meant looking back at his own start nearly thirty years ago in Hollywood when--on his first ever visit to the U.S.--he costarred with Shelley Long in a Disney comedy and finding in Isabelle Huppert, who plays his wife, a kindred spirit worried about getting the work right.
