France Morin & Brett Dakin

France Morin stops by the Clocktower to talk about her nonprofit art and education organization, The Quiet in the Land. The Quiet in the Land is an artist residency program that brings established artists into communities where the collaboration between the artists and local population will produce a positive change. For their most recent project, Luang Prabang, the work of such artists as Marina Abramović, Cai Guo-Qiang, Rirkrit Tiravanija and recent Will-interviewee Shirin Neshat were realized in the northern Laotian city of the project's name. Previous projects have taken place in Salvador da Bahia and the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in Maine. Laos expert Brett Dakin also sits in on the conversation to talk a bit about some of the more pressing issues currently facing the country (44 minutes).
