Fountain Art Fair 2013, Part 2

Recorded onsite at the historic Lexington Ave Armory at the Fountain Art Fair 2013 in New York, Art and Technology host Daniel Durning "sees" sound waves and discusses the allegorical birth of the universe with a pair of sculptors working with laser cut steel on the floor of the Fountain at the Kilowatt Gallery.

Kate Raudenbush is a New York City based artist who creates allegorical environments as a form of social dialogue. Mixing visual symbolism cross-culturally within human history and mythology, geometry and architecture, her art finds inspiration within the micro and macro viewpoints of our natural and manufactured worlds. She utilizes welded and laser-cut metal, acrylic, mirror, sound and light to shape her designs into large-scale, climbable, enveloping environments and sacred spaces that are given more meaning with each visitorís participation. In this way, the artwork is not just an object to behold, but also an experience to be lived.

Joshua H. Knoblick is a sculptor, object maker, and entrepreneur based out of Newark, NJ. Joshua fabricates and casts sculpture at his studios Ferrous Research & Design, an art and design services company. In his work he weaves his personal interests with aural and visual metaphor then adding a dash of history, Joshua creates objects that challenge classic interaction and perception. His new WAV series begins to investigate the relationship between music, visual art, technology and manufacturing process.
