Eva and Franco Mattes

Franco and Eva Mattes, the couple also known as 01001011101011101.ORG, have been hacking their way into art history since the mid-90s. Best known for their web interventions (a current one has Franco dangling from a rope in a perversely real simulation of a suicide), the pair, walking deftly and digitally in Duchamp's footsteps, questions the authenticity of the art object (along with the ubiquity of advertising) in carefully planned and executed art actions.
