Eric Bricker, Visual Acoustics
Actor Eric Bricker makes his directorial debut with the award
winning documentary Visual Acoustics, a portrait
of Julius Shulman, the premiere photographer of American Modernist architecture. Shulman, who
died at 98, proves to be a remarkable on-camera subject, and his work
is practically canonized in this fast-paced account. Bricker, whose
film has been honored at several festivals and is a candidate for
Academy Award recognition in February, 2010, explains how he found his
subject a decade ago, and what he learned from Shulman in a conversation held in a SoHo basement (27 minutes).
