Equinox Grooves
It's a tale of two vibes on the latest Hopper musical journey. In the first half, enjoy afro-rock vibes via Sierra Leonean dance band Muyei Power and Antibales’ new song “Tattletale”. Then a taste of Brazil, including Caetano Veloso’s son, Moreno Veloso’s “Em Todo Lugar Voz Boa” and Ed Motta’s “1978”. Then "Bailiwick" by Hard Proof, a 10 piece funk/rock/soul/afro-beat from Austin, Texas. This all followed with tracks by Sputnik 1 and Nortec Collective.
In the middle of the show DJ Jeannie Hopper switches vibes, like crossing the equatorial date line or the Autumnal Equinox. This musical journey takes a ethereal turn with selections from Zero7’s first release since 2010 “Red Blue Green”, Basement Jaxx's “Love Is at Your Side” from their full length “Junto”, New Orleans’ Water Seed's “We Have Got to Do This”, Cold Busted records’ Yellow Jacket's “Dead of the Night”, FaltyDL's “Dos Gardinias” and Croatia’s Kimekai’s “Live Lead”.
