Emanuele Crialese and Vincenzo Amato, Golden Door

A Tribeca Film Festival Special: A stirring recreation of the massive Italian migration to the U.S. at the dawn of the 20th century, Golden Door is presented by Martin Scorsese and features in its mostly Italian cast the French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. We speak with director Emanuele Crialese and the lead actor Vincenzo Amato about making the past come alive, and a score that includes vocals by Nina Simone (!) (24.5 minutes).
