Dolores Nordeste Mixed Tape
Sonoridade host and producer Béco Dranoff is commissioning leading Brazilian music producers and DJ’s to create special mixed tapes to be featured on Sonoridade throughout 2016. For this episode, Béco’s distinguished guest is the producer, DJ, and musical researcher DJ Dolores (Hélder Aragão). A true insider in the Brazilian electronic music scene since Pernambuco’s first Mangue Beat wave of the early 1990’s, Dolores is a fundamental musical reference when speaking about Brazil’s electronic sound renewal, spearheading original music projects such as Orquestra Santa Massa, Aparelhagem, Frevotron, Stank, and composing film soundtracks such as Narradores de Javé and A Máquina, to name a few. Dolores has performed live and DJ’d at prestigious global music events such as Glastonbury, Womad, Copenhagen Jazz, Cactus, Art Rock, Sphinx, Montreal Jazz Festival, Paleo, and Roslkilde.
