As with previous "Best Of" shows, the title is just used to hook you in. This is simply some of DB's favorite releases from 2013. But what an amazing year for new music! There are a few obvious notable exclusions from the show because there simply isn't room, and or because you might have burnt out on them by now anyway. (They are: James Blake, David Bowie, Savages, Mount Kimbie, Sigur Ros, The National, Four Tet, Caveman & The Black Angles.)

This is not a music show that's restricted to a particular genre, or even a specific decade, although it has an emphasis on indie rock with electronic elements or electronic music that's not simply for the dance floor. It's a 90-minute mixtape-style show that is as musically open-minded as the musical landscape is wide.
