DB58: Electronic Dance Music But Not EDM
This playlist combats the overgeneralized definition of EDM, a term most likely coined by someone at Billboard Magazine or a major label so they could market and package dance music to the new generation discovering electronic music. Instead of thinking of electronic dance music in such narrow terms, DB embraces it as a formulaic sound and genre all of its own.
In this program you will hear music by: Daniel Avery, Jamie xx, The Chemical Brothers, UNKLE, CRi, Glasser, Radiohead, Mylo, LCD Soundystem, New Order, SBTRKT, Pumarosa, Jon Hopkins, Roni Size & Reprazent, Caribou, Mura Masa, DARKSIDE, Simple Minds, Gilligan Moss, Girls Names, Fever Ray / DB+SZ, and Heaven 17.

As a kid in London, DB used to fall asleep at night with a transistor radio hidden under his pillow. He has been addicted to hearing new music ever since. Here, he brings that music to you.
This is not a music show that's restricted to a particular genre, or even a specific decade, although it has an emphasis on indie rock with electronic elements or electronic music that's not simply for the dance floor. It's a 90-minute mixtape-style show that is as musically open-minded as the musical landscape is wide.
