DB33: Best of 2012

Although he called the show "Best of 2012", DB actually disliked the idea of "Best of" lists. He wrote this about the show:

"Music, just like art, is completely subjective.
So in my head this show is simply "some of my favorite tracks from some of my favorite artists & albums of last year". The first thing you might notice is that its missing both Jack White & the Black Keys but there just wasn't enough time to include everything AND I figured you might also have heard them quite enough by now anyway.

It was a great year for all kinds of music & the show goes all over the place.
I'd really like to thank Jeannie & all at the station for giving me a full two hours for this show!"

DB's "subjective" "Best of" soundtrack includes songs by the following artists:

John Talabot, Liars, Ultraƌsta, Calyx & TeeBee, The Big Pink, Santigold, Martin Brodin, Death Grips, XXYYXX , Happa, The xx, Young Fathers, Little Dragon, Little Man, Atoms For Peace, Lotus Plaza, Four Tet, Alt-J, Jai Paul, Chromatics, Burial Truant, The Horrors, JAMES BLAKE V LYNX, Matthew Dear, and Japandroids.

As a kid in London, DB used to fall asleep at night with a transistor radio hidden under his pillow. He has been addicted to hearing new music ever since. Here, he brings that music to you.

This is not a music show that's restricted to a particular genre, or even a specific decade, although it has an emphasis on indie rock with electronic elements or electronic music that's not simply for the dance floor. It's a 90-minute mixtape-style show that is as musically open-minded as the musical landscape is wide.
