DB31: Don't Be Narrow Minded
This show reverts back to the original concept – diversity of genre & decade. Most tunes are new, but there's always a good dose of history sprinkled in, maybe partly to show the roots of what's inspiring current trends.
This batch of goodies includes tracks by Kidnap Kid, Starfucker, the xx and more. Also featured is the first Blur single I ever heard and bought, moving on to Alt J, who has made possibly my fave album of the year so far. You'll also be hearing the extraordinary Death Grips, who I finally got to see last week, and lastly is a track from the stunning new Matthew Dear album.
Please feel free to write in with any questions or comments to INFO@DJDB.com. As always, this mix is closing with a classic all the way from 1981. I can still remember the bewildered feeling when I heard it for the first time.
Thanks for listening, and see ya next time.

As a kid in London, DB used to fall asleep at night with a transistor radio hidden under his pillow. He has been addicted to hearing new music ever since. Here, he brings that music to you.
This is not a music show that's restricted to a particular genre, or even a specific decade, although it has an emphasis on indie rock with electronic elements or electronic music that's not simply for the dance floor. It's a 90-minute mixtape-style show that is as musically open-minded as the musical landscape is wide.
